    Jeff Inlay is renowned as a beloved children’s musician and dedicated educator, captivating audiences across the Portland, Oregon area both solo (as Mr. Hoo) and alongside his band, The Alphabeticians. He has performed thousands of shows around the Portland area, as well as working with countless preschools and day care centers to provide musical education for kids.

  • He is also the proprietor at Left Nook Recording Studio, where he has lent his production talents to numerous projects, including solo projects, multiple works for The Alphabeticians and the esteemed Matt Clark, who even immortalized him in song.
     
    Hailing from the scenic shores of Hawaii, Jeff embarked on a journey that led him through Southern California, where he spent his formative years, and eventually to Pomona College, where he attained his academic credentials. Setting roots in the Pacific Northwest, Jeff made his home in Seattle for three years before ultimately settling in the Portland area in 1992, where he has resided ever since. A family man at heart, Jeff is the devoted husband to his wife Jen and loving father to four children (one of whom is in his backing band).
     
    Jeff‘s musical journey extends beyond his acclaimed children’s performances; he once graced the stages of Portland and the West Coast with Hummingfish, a band that garnered a devoted following throughout the mid-90s. The singer for Hummingfish was Deb Talan, who has gone on to make a name for herself with her solo career and with her band The Weepies. His musical collaborations span an eclectic array of groups, from the whimsically named Two-Dimensional Billy to the enigmatic Voodoo Fonzarelli, showcasing his diverse talents and boundless creativity.
