How is YMP able to provide Scholarships?
Underwritten by the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation, YMP’s scholarship program makes YMP’s already outstanding programs available to every student in our community regardless of family income. In addition, free, high quality instrument rentals are available for any student on scholarship as long as they are taking lessons at YMP.
How can I apply for financial support?
If you would like to apply for financial assistance, include a letter from your child’s school documenting their participation in the free or reduced lunch program when you register for classes. With generous grant support, YMP is able to offer 100% scholarships for students eligible for free lunch and 75% scholarships for students who are eligible for reduced lunch at school (or the food stamp program) for their first two sessions. The next two sessions would cost 25% for free lunch students and 50% for reduced lunch students (or the food stamp program) students. After four total sessions, the price will max out at 50% for free lunch students and 75% for reduced lunch (or food stamp program) students. Your request for financial aid will not be considered unless the full payment (if any), the completed registration form, and the school letter are received by the registration deadline. If your child is home schooled or in a school that does not participate in the free lunch program, please include proof of income in the form of last year’s income tax form and a recent pay stub. The YMP scholarship committee will then contact you to determine the cost of lessons.
