The Youth Music Project offers some of the coolest music camps around! All of the YMP Summer Camps focus on a different band, theme, or artist. Last year, YMP sold out every camp, so early registration is encouraged! Every YMP camp is open to both boys and girls in grades K-12. When registering for each camp, you will have the option of signing your student up for either an instrument specific focus (guitar, drums, piano for grades K-12) or signing them up to play in a full rock band (for grades 3rd-12th). All students will wear YMP costumes and show what they have learned at the camp recital.
YMP’s camps run Monday – Friday, 8:45am to 4:45pm. The final performance for each camp will be on the Friday of each camp week at 3:45pm. Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments if they have them, but YMP will provide instruments (and costumes) if not. Snacks will be provided every day, but students must bring their own lunches. All camps will occur at YMP’s new building located at 2015 8th Ave, West Linn, OR 97068.
YMP’s camps are $275 for the entire week. Free lunch students receive a 100% scholarship (with a $50 deposit that will be refunded once the student has successfully completed the camp). Reduced lunch students receive a 75% scholarship and pay only $68.75. Please read YMP’s school policies for more info.
The Instrument Specific option for each camp will play songs by the specific band, theme or artist but instead of playing with a band they take classes together with students who are playing the same instrument as them (guitar, drums or piano). This option is ideal for students who are new to their instrument and is open to student who are entering Kindergarten-12th Grade in the Fall.
The Rock Band option for each camp will play songs by the specific band, theme or artist and will play as a full band. This option is ideal for students who have a little more experience on one of the instruments used in the rock band (guitar, drums, piano, bass or voice) but is not necessary. This option is only open to students who are entering 3rd-12th Grade in the Fall.
