Colin comes from a long lineage of music educators. He started playing cello at the age of four and piano at the age of six. He picked up drum sticks at the age of twelve and has been playing ever since. He is also proficient in guitar and piano.
Colin attended the University of Oregon, studying percussion with Charles Dowd, Dr. Sean Wagoner and Gary Hobbes. He also studied choral music education with Dr. Shannon Chase. He moved to Portland in 2006 and began teaching guitar, piano and drum set/percussion privately out of his home studio as well as with Chordination and Ethos Music Center.
“I couldn’t imagine my daily routine without music. I love to perform, but there is no greater, long-lasting edification than teaching.”
